i-dle‘s first concert in Seoul last Saturday brought surprises and also confirmations of rumors. Surprising for me were the new song Crow (which apparently will be released soon) and Shuhua’s solo song (yes, she said that she was planning a solo debut, but I had thought that would come later this year). The confirmation was that Soyeon is actually Ice Blue Rabbit, the composer and lyricist of ‘Mono‘ (which really wasn’t much of a surprise anymore). 

And Soyeon also for the first time performed the song ‘Ice Blue Rabbit’, again showing her enormous versatility. This time, we have a hyper pop banger from her. I only feature it today because I honestly had quite a lot of trouble figuring out the lyrics (and if something is still wrong, please be kind with me). These lyrics are aggressive and assertive.

Vocabulary & grammar breakdown

1. 말해봐, 다시 말해봐 다시

• 말하다 = “to speak / to say”
• 말해봐 = 말하다 + –아/어 보다 (“try saying”) → casual command: “say it”
• 다시 = “again”

→ Pattern: verb + –아/어 봐 = “try doing / go ahead and do.”

2. 아무나 만져 너의 머리

• 아무나 = “anyone”
• 만지다 → 만져 = “touch” (informal present)
• 너의 머리 = “your head / your hair”

→ Flexible word order; standard order would be:
