Heart Of Woman – 나를 잃지 않는 방법 (Lost in Proof)

Heart of Woman (H.O.W) has just launched, and their first release is truly something special! It’s not just an EP with four tracks or a digital single; it’s a full album with eleven songs! This really shows how determined and brave both the girls and their label are. It’s not just a cautious first step; it’s a clear statement of confidence in their potential.

And the title song is definitely a hit! It brings back memories of second-generation K-pop without feeling like a throwback. Plus, all the other songs on their debut album, ‘Heart Byte : LEGACY’ (another bold move, naming their first release ‘Legacy’), are just as great! Some of the members have been around for a while, having participated in well-known casting shows. But with this release, let’s really focus on what’s ahead for them, and honestly, it looks like they’re heading in the right direction!

As for the lyrics, this small grammar shift is everything:

나는 나를 사랑할 거야

“I’m going to love myself.”

아니 나는 나를 사랑한 거야

“No — I already loved myself.”

The first line uses -ㄹ/을 거야, which points to the future:

사랑할 거야

= I will love / I’m going to love

But then the lyric corrects itself:

사랑한 거야

= I did love / I have loved

That little 아니 changes the emotion.

It is not only a promise for the future.

It is a realization about the past.

Almost like:

“I thought loving myself was something I still had to learn.

But maybe I had already been loving myself — by surviving, by staying, by not disappearing.”

And that leads into the title idea:

그것만이 나를 잃지 않는 방법이니까

“Because that’s the only way not to lose myself.”

Which hits harder to you?

“I will love myself.”

or

“I already did.”
