Everglow – Code: New Lineup, New Company, New Comeback

Yesterday’s Everglow comeback completely slipped by me, despite my anticipation. Everglow now consists of four members. Mia decided to leave for personal reasons, and Yiren is still bound by another contract. In September last year, the remaining four members joined a new company and managed to retain their name. They made their first comeback in the new formation yesterday with the ‘Code’ EP.

The title track ‘Code’ showcases their signature sound and energy. It’s a dark and futuristic techno track that’s complemented by a matching music video.

Today’s lines are:

몰랐던 널 깨워내

널 이끌 네 안의 wild instinct

받아들여 no exit

“Awaken the side of you that you didn’t know.

The wild instinct inside you that will guide you.

Accept it — there’s no way out.”

Vocabulary & grammar breakdown

1. 몰랐던 널 깨워내

  • 모르다 → 몰랐던 = past attributive form (“that didn’t know”)
  • = contraction of 너를 (“you,” object marker)
  • 깨워내다 = “to awaken / bring out”

→ Structure: [verb-(았/었)던 + noun]

→ “the you that you didn’t know before.”

2. 널 이끌 네 안의 wild instinct

  • 이끌다 → 이끌 = future attributive form (“that will lead”)
  • 네 안의 = “inside you” ( = inside + –의)
  • wild instinct = English phrase used as noun

→ Means “the wild instinct inside you that will lead you.”

3. 받아들여

  • 받아들이다 = “to accept / embrace”
  • 받아들여 = imperative form (“accept it”)

→ Pattern: verb + –아/어 used as command in casual speech.

4. Attributive verb forms in sequence

  • 몰랐던 (past attributive)
  • 이끌 (future attributive)

→ Korean often builds meaning through verbs modifying nouns rather than full sentences.

Are you excited about Everglow’s comeback and their upcoming world tour? Or are you disappointed that they couldn’t stay together as OT6?
