This song came out a little more than a week ago, and while I usually immediately make a post for every single song Chuu releases, I did not have time for it last week as I was travelling.
When the song came out on July 2nd, I was already surprised that shortly before the release, P-Nation had announced that Heize, who features on this song, had not renewed her contract with them. This looked like strange timing; why release a song exactly on the day you leave a company? Some netizens speculated that maybe Heize was set to sign with ATRP, the company Chuu is under.
Well, that speculation definitively got a hit today: ATRP and Chuu announced that they, too, are parting ways as of today. Chuu announced that we should look forward to her future activities, so she will definitively continue, but we don’t know yet under which company. And again the question, why release a song such a short time before parting ways with your agency (although the song was not produced by ATRP but by dreamus music). It is also interesting to see what ATRP will be up to now. Chuu was their only artist until exactly 13 months ago when Oh My Girl’s Arin signed with them for her solo activities after having starred alongside Chuu in ‘My Girlfriend is the Man!’. So now ATRP is down to one artist again.
