After more than one year without new music, we finally have a comeback by Billlie! And I’m blown away. Their last EP ‘Of All We Have Lost’ was released in October 2024, and except for one Webtoon Soundtrack, they have been silent since then. But the new single ‘Cloud Palace’ is, in my opinion, worth the wait. They double down on the jazzy atmosphere of their last EP and take it even further in the video, in which the whole music, including the vocals, was recorded on the set of the MV shoot.
For our daily Korean grammar and vocabulary lesson, let’s look into these sentences sung by Tsuki:
다시 걸어가고 있어
작은 틈이 생겼다며
다 끝났다 생각한 순간 차올라
“I’m walking again.
They say a small crack has appeared.
Just when I thought it was all over, it wells up.”

1. 다시 걸어가고 있어
dasi georeogago isseo
- 다시 = “again”
- 걸어가다 = “to walk forward / to move on” (more purposeful than just 걷다)
- –고 있어 = present progressive (“am walking”)
→ Implies resuming a journey, often emotional or psychological, not just physical.
2. 작은 틈이 생겼다며
jageun teumi saenggyeotdamyeo
- 작은 틈 = “a small gap / crack / opening” (often metaphorical: hope, doubt, possibility)
- 생기다 = “to appear / to form”
- –다며 = reported speech / hearsay (“they say that…”)
→ Creates emotional distance: the speaker isn’t fully convinced yet, just repeating what’s been said.
3. 다 끝났다 생각한 순간
da kkeunnatda saenggakan sungan
- 다 끝났다 = “it’s all over”
- –다고 생각한 = “that I thought” (attributive clause modifying 순간)
- 순간 = “the moment”
→ Compresses thought and time: a single instant of resignation.
4. 차올라
chaolla
- from 차오르다 = “to fill up / swell / rise”
- Often used for emotions, tears, breath, feelings
- Subject is omitted (very Korean): what fills up is emotionally understood
→ Suggests something uncontrollable returning — emotion, hope, pain, or resolve.
차오르다 is a word you will come across very often, both in K-pop lyrics and K-dramas, when the emotions hit a peak.
