“The answer is inside me.”

“I already know who I am.”  

“I don’t need your approval.”  

“You don’t get to define me.”

Especially because the next line is:

Come test me test me

That turns the lyric from soft self-belief into a challenge.

It’s not “please understand me.”  

It’s “try me.”
